Rachel Gormanさんのご紹介

在日アメリカ大使館から本学の英語教育を支援するために派遣されたRachel Gormanさんのご紹介です。

Rachelさんは米国政府の全面的な財政支援のもとで、日本の公的機関で10ヵ月間英語学習指導に従事する専門家です。この取り組みは日米間の半導体分野の協力を深めることを目的としており、本学がその受け入れ先に選ばれました。本学では教員向けの英語力強化セミナー、また海外派遣学生向けの研修等にご協力をいただいています。

Rachel Gorman Short Biography

Rachel Gorman is currently serving as an English Language Fellow at the Institute of Science Tokyo, through a partnership with the US Embassy. Rachel has a Master of Arts in TESOL from Hunter College School of Education (New York, NY) and a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Education and Hispanic Studies from Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY). She has worked for 8 years as an ESL teacher in a bilingual Spanish/English public high school in New York City where she taught new immigrant students. She has been a leader in her school’s English Department and has facilitated teacher training workshops for teachers at her school and other high schools in New York City.
